Interior Design

I've been doing residential, commercial, and hospitality projects over the last 15 years. Email me if you have a project - big or small - I love interiors! wendy@builtbywendy.com. Click link to see my work.

Departing Dearly and Good Mourning

Pre-covid I had an idea to make a website for All Things Death + Dying. It would be Curated Guides ◦ Culture ◦ Resources for the Inevitable. During the process of researching I became a death doula. I even designed an urn! I don't really practice but if you need any info check out my site or email me wendy@builtbywendy.com. I'm all about the death positivity movement. It's the most natural part of life. Click link to see the website.

Screenwriting

I wrote my first script, 86, back in 2014. It's a comedy set in Chicago in 1986 and kind of a Built by Wendy origin story filled with emotional sewing sessions. It's optioned with plans to get filmed next year so fingers crossed! Since then, I've written some other stuff that I try to hustle. Most notably a series set in the fashion world and human smuggling in Chinatown sweatshops in early 90's NYC called KNOCK OFF. If you have any juice to help me, hit me up wendy@builtbywendy.com.

Costume Design & Styling

While I was building Built by Wendy after college I styled music videos for bands like Pavement and Sleater Kinney. Since my move to LA, I've gotten back into it with personal styling and doing costumes/wardrobe on film, tv, and commercial projects (I'm in the Costume Designers Guild Local 892). If you need anything like that, hit me up - I'm always happy to work on projects or help with personal styling tips etc. wendy@builtbywendy.com. Click link to see some of my reel.

Cleantech & Sustainability

Over the last several years I've become obsessed with sustainability which is partly why I don't make a lot of collections anymore. So much so, that my partner and I have been developing this logistics system through the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator. So now I basically live on LinkedIn. Click link to scope it out.
